As a measure to protect all those involved in our programs, the Saskatchewan Hockey Association is promoting a new system that allows you to get your Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search online. To minimize any inconvenience associated with this process, the SHA is now registered with mybackcheck.com and will require participants within specific SHA programs to complete their background checks through the mybackcheck.com online service.  This online method for completing criminal record checks is a service provided by BackCheck, Canada's largest provider of pre-employment background checks.

As an alternative to driving to the local police station, myBackCheck.com allows registered Associations and registered individuals to complete their check from the comfort and convenience of their own home, with results delivered to the Association within one business day.  Register your association today to have your required individuals begin their check.  Simply visit www.backcheck.net/sha and follow the simple steps to complete your criminal record check online. One great benefit of this service is that myBackCheck.com also allows individuals to share their completed check multiple times with their children's school, their church, potential employers, or anywhere else they may volunteer or require a check.

Please note that it is not SHA policy that all team officials must complete a criminal record check, but your local minor hockey association may.  Please also note that this is not a compulsory requirement for your association to use this service, it is simply a way to make the process as simple as possible for your membership.
