SHA Annual Recognition AwardsEach year the Saskatchewan Hockey Association presents three recognition awards in various categories. These awards are presented in June at the Saskatchewan Hockey Association Annual General Meeting. The SHA asks for nominations from across the province in determining the recipients for the awards. The SHA is currently seeking nominations for the 2010-11 season. Nomination deadline is April 15. Outstanding Volunteer AwardThis award is an ongoing award established in 1992 to honor those individuals, who for many years, have served amateur hockey faithfully, having participated as players, coaches and/or as active members of the association. A strong candidate is someone who has made an outstanding contribution to Saskatchewan amateur hockey. Recipients
Volunteer Coach of the YearAwarded annually to acknowledge outstanding service by a volunteer who has developed his or her time to assist coaching in SHA. Recipients2001 - Gord Dziendzielowski, Saskatoon 2002 - Dave Strueby, Humboldt 2003- Brenda Cromartie, Shellbrook 2004- Neil Kish, Estevan 2005 - Monte Marshall, Saskatoon 2006 - Joe Tindall, Saskatoon 2007 - Brent Ball, Saskatoon 2008 - Ted Priel, Saskatoon 2009 - Tim Tisdale, Swift Current 2011 - Ed Watson, Eston Minor Hockey Association of the YearAwarded annually to the Minor Association judged to have made an outstanding contribution to its community by providing a properly organized program where a youngster can learn the basic skills and the fundamentals of good hockey.
