ONLINE CERTIFICATION CLINIC
ALL TEAM STAFF (Coaches, Managers, Trainers, Volunteers, Stick Boys) 16 years and older must complete Respect in Sport (RIS) by Feb 1.
Previous Speak Out certification is considered equivalent to Respect in Sport.
Respect in Sport Program is an education program for coaches to assist them in the prevention of harassment, abuse and bullying in sport. The purpose of the program is to impact on attitudes, skills, and knowledge of the coaches that will result in a safe, sportsmanlike environment for all players, coaches, and parents.
Respect in Sport Program is only offered online and is a total of 3 hours in length.
The course consists of 6 modules, each 30 minutes in length.
The RIS program does not have to be completed at one sitting. The program knows where the coach has left off and brings the coach back to that point upon the next sign-in. When the program has been completed a Certificate of Completion can be printed.
Your certificate number is transferable to all sports.
The Respect in Sport Parent Program is an effective and informative online training program for parents of active children. This unique certification program complements Respect in Sport for Coaches/Activity Leaders by reinforcing a parent’s role in a child or youth's activities, encouraging positive sport behaviours, and providing insight into the various roles other individuals (such as coaches and officials) play. This program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's fun and camaraderie of the activity.
Committed to creating a positive hockey experience for all, the Saskatchewan Hockey Association is pleased to provide this convenient online course for hockey parents. Although this is not a mandatory requirement for SHA members, it is recommended that parents take the course.
This 4 hour online program is designed to reinforce a parent’s role in a child’s activities, encouraging positive sport behaviours, and empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's fun and camaraderie of the activity.
