I forgot to mention that last night some of the players and staff attended what was called the Triple Crown ceremony. The Triple Crown of hockey consists of players that have won the Stanley Cup, World Championship and the Olympics. This one included 22 former and current players.  Remember I was at Mcdonalds and was having a double Big Mac.

Monday Feb 22

Today the players are off with no practice. A few get their daily physio treatments and then most of them enjoy a day off to see the Olympic excitement. Al, my co-host is taking the coaches skiing on Grouse mountain. For those who do not know where Grouse mountain is when you look north of Vancouver you see 2 ski hills, the one west and higher in elevation is Cypress and the East hill is Grouse and at a lower elevation.

Sunday Feb 21

Final day for round robin play and for those of you reading this you already know what day this is. It is the day Team Canada were beat by the USA. I will tell you that you could hear a pin drop in the bowels of CHP after the game. There was looks of concern on all of the volunteers faces, if you have not seen a sad smurf there were lots today. The Canadian locker room was on full lock down no one was outside of it and definitely no one was smiling or making eye contact.
