Re: Female Bantam AA Registration Regulations
August 12, 2019
There have been some concerns brought forward that the team representatives of the Seven Female Bantam AA teams for the 2019/20 season along with parents who wish for their daughters to play on one of the seven teams, are confused regarding the Registration Regulations related to the formation of the teams.
The following Regulations were approved by the SHA Board of Directors and Minor Hockey Associations have been notified twice in the past few months.
To provide clarification here are the Regulations.
Female “AA” Regulations
a) The following Regulations apply to all AA teams entered in the Saskatchewan Female League:
NOTE: SHA Regulation 6.03.02 b) pertaining to Geographic Subdivisions 2-4 apply.
b) The Saskatchewan Female League cannot expand to any new centers in Bantam AA or Midget AA, and cannot change the sponsoring center of their team, without first gaining approval from the SHA Registration Committee by March 1st annually who will assess the impact on the rest of the SHA Membership. All applications must be submitted through the League.
NOTE: Teams on a leave of absence will be considered into the total numbers of members in the league.
c) All “AA” try outs will be on the same weekend annually for each age group with the final roster determined and submitted for approval to the SHA as listed;
- Bantam AA – 2nd weekend in September with an October 1st Registration Deadline
- Midget AA – 3rd weekend in September with an October 1st Registration Deadline
d) Players wishing to play Bantam and Midget must try out for the nearest AA team to their residence. If they are not successful in making the nearest AA team, they must obtain a release from the Association of that AA team and they may then proceed to try out for the next nearest AA team and so on.
e) Provincial Playoffs – The winner of the Playoffs in each division (Bantam and Midget) within the Saskatchewan Female League will be the Provincial Champions.
