Hounds and Stars Punch Ticket to National Tournaments

Monday, April 9, 2018 – Two (2) Saskatchewan based, Midget level teams found success at regional championships over the weekend. On the male side, the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL), claimed victory at the Telus Cup West Regional by beating the Winnipeg Wild in the final game, score was 5-2. The female side, the Saskatoon Stars out of the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League (SFMAAAHL) matched up against the Eastmen Selects from Manitoba. The best of three series went two games, as the Stars won games one and two by scores of 7-0 and 6-2, respectively.

Next up for the Notre Dame Hounds is the Telus Cup National Tournament. The event takes place April 23 – 29 in Sudbury Ontario. The first game for the Hounds goes April 23 versus the Toronto Nationals AAA at 1:30 PM (CST – SK).

The Saskatoon Stars move onto the Esso Cup, taking place in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The seven-day event goes April 22 – 28. The Stars first  game will be up against the representatives from Ontario, the Brampton Canadettes. Puck drop on Sunday, April 22 is 9:00 AM (CST – SK).
