Female U18 Team Saskatchewan Opens Canada Games Against Manitoba
Sunday, February 24, 2019 – The Team Saskatchewan Female Under-18 program is heading west to Red Deer, Alberta, to take part in the Canada Winter Games. The games originally began earlier this month with Men’s hockey in the first half and now the Women’s competition begins play this Sunday. For Team Saskatchewan, they open the preliminary round in Pool A against a familiar foe in Team Manitoba. Game time is set for February 24th at 1:30 PM (CST – SK) and is available for viewing via the games live stream HERE.
Team Saskatchewan boasts significant experience which includes ten returning players from the 2017 National Women’s Under-18 Tournament. Those players include Allison Hayhurst (Wapella), Grace Tam (Saskatoon), Kate Ball (Saskatoon), Kennedy Bobyck (Regina), Joelle Fiala (Clavet), Kaitlin Jockims (Saskatoon), Anna Leschyshyn (Grasswood), Taylor Lind (Shaunavon), Jayda Sachs (Warman) and Grace Shirley (Saskatoon).
The other two opponents that Team Saskatchewan will face in Pool A are Team New Brunswick on February 25th and Team Quebec on February 26th.
