Alex Clarke Earns Major Officiating Assignments
She has been officiating for (8) eight seasons in Saskatchewan and has quickly progressed through the Saskatchewan Hockey ranks, and now Alex Clarke will get a taste of international hockey.
Clarke has recently been selected as a linesman to work the 2018 IIHF Women’s World Division I, Group B Championships, in Mexico City. Her first international experience will take place January 30 to February 4, 2018.
She explained that the IIHF selection was unexpected for this season, but she is very excited about the opportunity.
Along with the international assignment as a linesman, she was also selected as a referee for the Women’s Under-18 National Championships this November 1-6, 2017 in Quebec City.
Clarke, who is originally from Drake, and now resides in Weyburn, worked the Women’s Under-18 National Championship last season in Regina and earned the gold medal game in her first National Under- 18 Championship. Additionally, Clarke has officiated in the previous two Esso Cups.
To add to the busy months upcoming for Clarke, she will be one of 23 officials attending the Saskatchewan Hockey Association’s Level 4/5 camp next week in Regina.
Clarke also contributes off-ice as well with the officiating program, as she is a clinic instructor, supervisor and mentor in Weyburn.
The SHA Referee’s Division would like to congratulation Alex and wish her all the best this season!
