PJHL Officials of the Year for 2017-18
As the regular seasons in the Saskatchewan Officiating Development Model leagues near an end, it is time to acknowledge the officials for their commitment and efforts this season.
Two (2) of those officials were recently named winners of the Prairie Junior Hockey League (PJHL) Jason Mercer Memorial Award. The PJHL Referee of the Year honour goes to Aydon Brown of Saskatoon. Brown worked eleven (11) games as a referee in the PJHL this season. The PJHL Linesman of the Year award winner is Cody Hall of Regina, who worked ten (10) games as a linesman in the league this season as well as four (4) as a referee.
Runner-up honours go out to referee Chris Shore of Regina and Matt Kowaluk of Saskatoon.
The PJHL Official of the Year awards were renamed last year after the late Referee-In-Chief of the PJHL Jason Mercer.
Congratulation Aydon and Cody for the award and being recognized by their peers.
